Anyone use the "waist"?

This is in the eSignal PivotConsole. The formula is (O+C)/2. I googled it but didn't find much information. It does seem to provide good support/resistance in YM though.

I don't know if it is the same thing, but Murrey Math uses the concept of the waist. Google Murrey Math.
