| Institutional Investors Impact? The stock market is supposed to be an open market system where the price is determined solely by demand-supply action.
I want to discuss how much of this is actaully true. There is an idea floating around that BIG institutional investors who can buy large number of shares actually drive the prices. In effect, they are somewhat setting the price. Individual investors like us only make up a small fraction and we have little effect on the market.
To what extent do institutional investors affect the price?
