Any German DAX Traders Here

Hi there,

I was wondering if there is any German DAX on Non-DAX traders here, if you just shoot me over a mail, it would be great to talk about the DAX etc and any other ideas you may have!

Cheers

Re: Any German DAX Traders Here

I am German if that's what you meant, but don't trade the DAX right now, but I used to watch it a lot and I found that it follows the ES and FESX "tick by tick" (i.e. the DAX moves 3/4 ticks for every FESX tick). So if you want to trade the DAX, you should definitely keep an eye on those markets.

What is FESX?
Dax is pretty volatile, yesterday evening, 400pts up and down within hours and each pt worth 25Euros

FESX is the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 Futures. It's the most traded European stock index future. Got almost as much volume as ES and follows the ES very closely. Go to http://eurexchange.com/ and it's the first one listed, just before FDAX. Keep in mind that my observations are from a time when the market was not as volatile as the last 2 weeks.

Also look at the bund. It trades a lot like ESTX50 but (was) slightly trendier.

Actually most of the time the FESX does exactly the opposite of the bund. They don't move together very often, it's more the exception than the rule.

Right.
German bond futures are relatively good opposite indicators for FDAX.

May I just add that FGBL (Bund) is moving only in big steps and thus does not give so clear signals.
You may consider to add FGBS (Schatz) or - best - FGBM (Bobl) to your watchlist.
The latter is moving quite smoothly and has the biggest range (in ticks) of the 3.
