  1. I am studying market cycles and Delta time frames to use in my trading. I have also been studying cycles as traded by Walter Bressert. As I am new to trading and he sells a plug in of his trading set up I need to purchase one of the following, Tradesation, Meta stock or esignal charting package. On top of that he sells his own plug in called profittrader which only works with these packages. As I have no experience with any software charting package I hope some of the more experienced traders could help me out. I have my account with IBrokers and I wanted to start trading the emini ES or the ETF SPY on daily charts and also intraday data. Which one of the software packages above is the most user friendly ( I do not need all the bells and whistles ) as I primarily need the charting to plug in the profit trader. Which packages offers the best value for money when considering data feed (intraday) ease of use. As I need a DOM for easy order entry can this be bought and hooked up to IB, as IB does not have this accessory. I have also read from other posts that ATInfinity offer good execution to trade eminis. What monthly fees must I count with to get started demo trading. Thanks for any feedback.
  2. Is it possible to buy second hand charting packages ? What are the pros and cons of this ? I am looking for Dynamic trader 4 or 5. Does anyone know of anyone who wants to sell one ? Mac
  3. Thanks for your replies. I will go and check them out. Why are the data providers and the charting pacakes sold together and why if you already have the data from your broker do I need to sign up with a independent supplier of data, seems like one is paying for the same service twice, or have I misunderstood something. Mac
  4. Hi All, Just a brief background so that you know where I stand. I have been trading for about 4 months and would like to get a charting software package (do not have one presently) as my boker (Interactivebrokers) does not have much. This is what I am looking for 1. Must have historical back data for about 20 -25 years. 2. Just need end of day data for US and German and UK market. 3. Need to be able to draw in vertical lines for DELTA i.e I need to be able to draw in 4 different colored vertical lines at specific dates going back many years. 4. Simple charts only OHLC price needed. 5. Need to be able to draw in numbers above the chart on daily, weekly charts. I want to trade using the tool DELTA that is why I need the vertical lines. I have looked at technical trader which has all the bells and whistles and comes with a price tag of 1600 USD and a yearly fee of 400 USD. I have found some EOD data providers that provide data for a one time yeraly fee of about 80 USD. I just need to link that up with a software package and that is all I need. I only trade in between working , I am not a full time trader that needs all the extras. Who can recommend a simple, charting software at a reasonable price. I already pay for streaming market data with interactive so I could also link up charting package to use their data. Which software works with this ? Any hints to a simple approach would be much appreciated. DELTA society offers their own package but they only cover one market unless you take the whole package. Cheers Ian
