  1. Heard about this problem with TS again and again. I use AmiBroker with Interactive Brokers, trading automated and never have a problem. Occasionly, IB will hiccup on providing data, but it reconnects real fast. I trade mostly 5 minute charts, but I get price updates every 20 seconds. IQ DTN feed is also great if you need superfast data. I used them for over a year and they are very inexpensive and provide a great real time data feed.
  2. I have been using the IB interface to Amibroker for 2+ years with great results. I made some initial coding errors until I really understood Amibroker. Their support is really great. I now have two systems trading using the AB/IB combination. They're not making consistent money yet, but I keep tuning them and have many profitable days. I've actually written about a dozen different systems, all using the Auto analysis/Exploration part of Amibroker. There's nothing out there more elegant and easy to use than Amibroker/Interactive Brokers combo. Very compact code and it's easy to program in, ONCE you understand the data array metholodogy of AmiBroker. for/next loop are verboten, although supported.
  3. I saw "Inside Job" last night. Great expose on the financial meltdown. Sad part is that none of the culprits are going to jail, in fact a lot of them work as financial advisors to our government. Goldman Sachs is the new Catholic Church. They own us. Watch the movie, very well done and compelling, if not depressing ;>)
  4. Problem with this indicator is that it looks in the future. Look at the ref(X,1), ref(X,2) etc statements where X represents a high, low etc. The 1 or 2 in that statement means it's looking at bars in the future. Worthless except as an exercise in programming. If this worked, we'd all be rich
