    Volume Splitter

Is it possible Commitment of Traders (COT) data could play a role in the Volume Splitter indicator? Attached are the TS COT indicators and here is the Quick Tip explanation https://www.tradestation.com/support/webinars/quicktips.aspx COTQuickTipMaterials.zip
  2. Tams, I have searched for these TTM anchors on this site to no avail. One of our resident coding geniuses will have to take a run at this.
  3. Webinar link, http://freewebinars.s3.amazonaws.com/anchor-free-webinar.htm PDF link for webinar slides, http://freewebinars.s3.amazonaws.com/Bringing-It-All-Together-With-Anchors.pdf
  4. Carter hosting a webinar tonight Tues. July 21/09 detailing this indicator. FWIW, there is a paintbar study called 'TTM Trend Anchor' and another called 'TTM Squeeze Anchor' - essentially the same principle (cross referencing multi time frames). He just gets to bill ya' twice :deal: Will post link to webinar recording when it becomes available.
  5. Flo: You may be interested in Nichols' stuff here, http://www.fractalmarketreport.com/index.php Your avatar should be a piece of broccoli.
  6. UrmaBlume, please post the elds and studies used so we can advance this discussion beyond 'hey nice chart'.
  7. I have watched this indicator for a few days now and am having difficulty seeing it utility. Repeated overbought/oversold signals give many false entries. Is anyone using the Value Chart indicator successfully and if so, how?
  8. It is ironic that in the summer of 2007 OEC was 'rescuing' the clients of another troubled broker while at the same time they were giving their own Canadian clients the bums' rush out the door. They attempted to foist their Canadian accounts on to Questrade, an equity trading firm with no futures trading. The reason for this move was never made clear but they are now, once again, miraculously accepting Canadian business. Great firm.:puke:
  9. garciaal: AlleyB is Alexander Benjamin (http://www.forex-phoenix.org/MP_PP_3_Ph4x.pdf) see page 7 of 42. I believe he runs the tradingclinic.com (http://www.tradingclinic.com/index0212.php/) but can't confirm it since site is membership only and password protected.
  10. walter, I have been having really good luck with volume charts and this indicator.
  11. jthanki, your diligence is commendable. We may disagree on method but the only metric that counts is $ucce$$.
  12. jthanki, I have to disagree with you. Sim trading someone else's call for at least six whole months would be complete torture for me. There is absolutely no substitute for live trading real money in a real account. Real losses will rapidly sharpen your senses, focus your thinking and (hopefully) teach you critical money management skills necessary for survival in this harsh business. Pretend success on a simulator would set you up for monumental challenges when dealing with the emotional component of live trading. The fact that it worked this way for you is exceptional. Moreover, cherry picking trades instead of just taking all your setups (assuming the method is proven and valid) is a recipe for disaster.

    TMF Osc

cosmic: would this alert work for zero line crosses? { Alert criteria } if TR>0 then Alert( "Bullish alert" ) else if TR<0 then Alert( "Bearish alert" ) ; I am watching this indicator on ES 10,000 volume chart and it seems to give an early warning as to directional change.
  14. Walter/cosmic: any input as to the efficacy of this indicator when used with time, tick, volume or range bar charts? IOW, does it perform better on one of them compared to the others/
  15. We are finally seeing the true market effects of the recent abolition of trading curbs and the uptick rule. Adapt or die.
  16. Found this site where you can hear Broz' daily morning call. It may be tape delayed but you can still get the S&R numbers floor traders are looking at. http://www.futuresboard.com/?ab=audio&id=jackbroz&num=71
  17. Blowfish: Have you investigated the application of this rule intraday? IOW, about 1-2 hours after the opening bell seeing price action traverse the same day's new value area?
  18. Blowfish: Is the pre-fetch setting you are referring to "network.prefetch-next" ?
  19. Mr. Ed: FWIW, I benchmarked my Firefox and found no difference after completing all the tweaks suggested by unbuntugeek than I posted here: http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f114/recommended-router-for-trading-3524.html
  20. James: Can you post a video of your CCI hook method?
  21. Brownsfan: If you want to speed up your Firefox and IE just follow the instructions in this video. You do not have to download anything, just pause the video and do as instructed. It works wonderfully. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41GMPrCATas
