  1. If the markets were completely random, there is no way a day or swing trader can be profitable. The fact that traders are able to extract money from the markets daily proves the markets are not random.
  2. Thank you luke24.5. Is it possible to scalp using market profile? I have this impression that market profile traders pick their spots rather carefully and trade 1-3 roundturns daily. Also, I will check out the free course provided by Cisco futures.
  3. I heard about the Cisco Futures market profile course. It's supposed to be pretty good. Did you end up taking that course luke24.5?
  4. How long is that going to take? We need to wait a whole new cycle.... I'de say 4 years minimum.
  5. Thank guys. I have a question. Took a look at the market profile videos, if a range extension occurs after the initial balance, do you consider this a valid breakout? Are false breakouts more prone to occur during the first hour of trading?
  6. I had a rough morning session today and it came across to me that I need to work on learning how to spot a choppy market from a market with opportunities. My question is: How do you spot a choppy market early in the trading day? Is it possible to figure out whether the market will trend or consolidate within the opening hour? Thank you.
  7. Some good action in the ES, S&P 500 emini. Thats what I began with and still do till this day. Others may think differently though.
  8. I wouldnt rely on it too much. I have noticed the half hour reversal to be fairly common. So even if you did buy a breakout of the 15minute range, you are running right into potential resistance.
  9. 2% sounds alright if you are swing trading. I prefer to use a tighet stop when day trading though. Using a fixed percentage isnt bad at all. Although depending on your setup you should be able to adjust it accordingly. Some trades may not require 2% risk. Hope this helps.
  10. I'de say invest the money to get a mentor. As long as you learn from him it's money well spent. 1time, what markets are you trading? Different mentors specialize in different products.
  11. I dont have a rule based on losses but I do take a 1 hour walk everyday after the morning session. It helps clear my mind to focus for the afternoon session.
