  1. I'm only a lurker, but I have to say - Kiwi's post are one of only a few things which make visting this board worthwhile.
  2. Trader Vic on commodities is more an ad for his commodity basket product. It rides the 'Trader Vic' brand but really shouldn't be included with the first two.
  3. I'd never heard of George Lane before this post. From my quick googling he's a trader of 50+ years, who is a big proponent of stochastic indicators. Could you share, roughly what message did you find important from him?
  4. Thales, When you say your daughter finds 1-3 trades per day - could you tell us how many pairs and over which hours she's watching?
  5. Thales, Do you find much difference in the success of these simple breakout trades between the asian-euro-US market hours?
  6. thales, It's awesome to see what your daughter has done with her account. If all of your posts on this subject was in one thread, it would be one of the 'infamous' threads that people like to refer to, such as the James16 thread. I'm wondering how much of her account your daughter risks per trade. Also, regarding these simple breakout trades with 1:1 and 1:2 targets, what sought of hit rate have you had (over the time of your daughter's trading)? Thanks.
  7. These guys do a similar thing, they seem to love to add indicators though - which is typical of FF. http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=11854
  8. RH, Something to think about: Are you using the degree as a ticket to a job? Wouldn't Melbourne Uni be better in this regard?
  9. How about moving to Sydney? Just by looking at jobs on Seek - Sydney vs. Melbourne - You can see Sydney has alot more market based jobs. For example: Options Marketmakers - Liquid, Tibra, Optiver, Timberhill, Susquehanna Proprietary Futures - Propex, Fusion, Transmarket - I also hear MF Global have a prop desk. There are a bunch of trading desks at various banks, alot of large brokerage offices, a bunch of managed fund HQs. On another note, what did you think of Propex?
