  1. Hello, Many times I read about traders looking at the background if they are using VSA. I'm not sure what they mean by background, would someone please explain what they mean by this term? Thank you. Tim
  2. Hi, Have you ever run across a good auto trendline study? I have tried the TradeStation auto trendlines but it isn't what I am looking for. Here is an auto trendline study I like but it is on Ensign, here is the url http://www.ensignsoftware.com/tips/tradingtips58.htm . I like the auto trendlines as well as the channel study which is included. If anyone has come across a good auto trendline study would you please let me know? Thank you for your kindness and help.
  3. Good man. I hated that caterwauling going on because it distracted from what you were trying to explain. Plus the other members of the thread were learning, sharing and helping one another which was wonderful to see. Hell, even someone as dense as me might learn something...lol. If I might make a request, buddy, friend, pal, fellow flyfisherman...lol... would you through in a stock chart every now and again, please? Perhaps something that most people could relate to like the QQQQ's would be suitable and help us relate to the action of stocks vs futures. Thanks again, bud, for everything. Tight lines, Tim
  4. Hi Bill, Now look what you did. You told them you were a flyfisherman and knew that Raven4ns guy and they said leave, is that how it went.....ahahahahaaha. I'm glad the thread was moved here, the focus can be back on your methodology, once again. Bill, thanks for sharing your knowledge, bud. There are a lot of people who truly appreciate it....even if you are a flyfisherman...lol. Now get your hinie busy over here and impart some knowledge. Talk to you later, bud. Tim
  5. Hello, I have an Easylanguage Candle Pattern Recognition study that recognizes about 40 different candle patterns. It does this in real time and works great. What I would like is to be able to click on a candle anywhere on the chart and have the study tell me the pattern. I can do this with the same study on Amibroker and would like to do it with the Easylanguage study. Your help will be most appreciated. Thank you. Kindest regards, Tim
  6. Hello, I have an Easylanguage Candle pattern Recognition study but need 1 final thing to complete it. I need to be able to click on any candle and have the study tell me what pattern it is. At the moment it will tell me what the current candle pattern is and works great. However, it is necessary at times to look back and having the ability to click on a candle so the study tells you the pattern is very convenient. My Amibroker study does this which is both necessary and convenient. Can this be done using Easylanguage and would someone please help me with this? Thank you for any and all help. Kindest regards, Tim

    Indicator

I have an indicator that is written for Amibroker and would like to have it converted to Easylanguage. It is a short term indicator that is very accurate at picking tops and bottoms. If anyone has the ability to code this please contact me at raven4ns@yahoo.ca . Thank you. Regards, Tim
  8. Thank you for your kindness, I appreciate it very much. Tim
  9. Hi daedulus, Thank you for your kindness. I was looking for an auto trendline study and also if TS has a study that plots triangles, wedges etc. Would you also mind looking to see if TS has a candle pattern recognition study? 11. Thank you daedulus but I am not a member of TS so I cannot access their library, that is the problem. I was hoping to find a site that listed most of the formulas in the TS library . Tim
  12. Hello, Does anyone know of a site which would give you the various indicator studies listed in the library? I use MultiCharts and there are a couple of studies I would like to get for it but wondered if they might already be coded. Thank you for any and all help. Kindest regards, Tim
  13. Thank you Indicator-Master for your kindness. I will try the auto trendline code you sent and see how it works. I truly appreciate all the work involved to send it to me, thank you again. Kindest regards, Tim
  14. Thank you for your insights. I wanted the auto trendlines as a guide and/or filter. I use an Ergodic for timing of my entry but the trendlines would help confirm the direction. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness. kindest regards, Tim
  15. Hello, Does anyone know of an auto trendline AFL they really like? There are a couple in the Amibroker library but they are not what I am looking for. Tradestation has an auto trendline indicator that is quite good I hear and so does Ensign. I tried the Ensign and it is excellent. I would be very grateful if someone knew of such an AFL or would share it with me. Thank you for any and all help. Kindest regards, Tim

  17. I took a closer look at the indicator and it looks like the TSI. Hope this helps. Tim
  18. William Blau had a number of Ergodics. This one looks like either the TSI or the SMI . The length of the averages will adjust the look of the indicators, you just have to play with them until they look right to you. Tim
  19. Hello, I am looking for a software program that will scan a list of CDN stocks and provide me with a list of stocks that have the selected triangle patterns I have chosen. I'm not looking for the program to select a trade as much as to eliminate those stocks which have no triangle pattern. Has anyone seen such a program or trades with such a program? I am interested in triangles and a rectangle pattern, specifically. Thank you for any and all help. Kindest regards, Tim

Hi Apsll, I was looking at Telechart as a possible program to buy because of it's candle pattern feature. What do you think of it? Someone also suggested they might be going to quit the telechart and focus on Box I think it's called, any comments? Thank you. Tim
  21. Hi Jessechan, I have Nison's book as well as greg morris's book. What made u feel that bigelow's book was good? What did u garner from it? Thank you. Tim
  22. But people don't want something they have to think much about. They want signals (Where do I enter?). Therefore, those who want to understand should not expect fascinating exchanges with those who are searching for instructions. Interesting observation DB. Tim
  23. Hello, I use Multichart which can use EasyLanguage for it's formulas etc. There is a candle Identification code in Amibroker that I have and would like an opinion on how difficult it would be to convert it to EasyLanguage. Because the code is quite involved, I would ask anyone who is very good at doing such things to email me at raven4ns@yahoo.ca . Thank you. Kindest regards, Tim
  24. Hello, It seems as though there have been some assumptions made about how I intend to use the candle ident code. It is not intended to be used as the sole method for trading. I use a proprietary methodology for trading and the candle ident is just additional information that I like presented in that fashion. I didn't mean to cause such a "tempest in a teapot", I was merely hoping to find some coding for my charts. We each approach trading in our own fashion and mine will most likely be different from yours. That is not to say my approach is better but it is simply my approach. This seems like a nice spot to exchange ideas and hopefully I will be able to contribute something to the cause. Thank you for your ideas and suggestions. Kindest regards, Tim
  25. I find it will pick up patterns I might miss otherwise. It is simply another piece of information that is useful to me. Not everyone would need or use it but I do. Tim
