  1. The reason why I liked Aikido for health and defense purposes was that the teaching of Aikido is to be neutral, in life or in art, you tend to stay away from a fight rather than engaged; you are the center. An Aikido practitioner won't fight, but if you use force against him he might use some throws or joint locks... to keep you controlled; but he doesn't want to defeat you...
  2. How about Mutual Funds, they are getting up to 100% returns at the moment. Always try to be alert by watching the market periodically for any sign of a pull back.... http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/partsub/funds/topfundresults.asp?Category=All&Symbol=$HF
  3. I think trading Forex is like you as water on a wet dog, he will fade right and fade left untill you are dried off (and your pocket book) of his hair, only a few hard nose type such as fleas that are able to cling on for a full meal. Forex requires very much good understanding of FA and TA; you will need a lot of practice, play it small. And in order to succeed you will need to stick with your plan and don't be discourage or faded in either direction by the short term data in front of you. Pips to everyone. Phil

    The "FHR" Trades

You have 24 hrs to trade and you are limiting yourself to just FSH, what a waste of opportune in my opinion. Phil
  5. I think TA is a very good trading system, for this I must also include concepts that are technical; historical patterns, and price distributions... not just price and volume alone. I used TA almost exclusively sometimes, and the results are much better than FA for short term tradings. For long term setups, it will be another different story. I also find that engineering and math backgrounds are better at TA and economics and accountants are better at FA. When you hear failure rates it's usually from those outside the two academic backgrounds, this doens't mean that engineers and business people are better but they can learn to trade faster, and the success rates are much higher than the rest...
  6. Just like poker, I think sports betting and trading are also very similar; from my experience, when I put my money on the line win or lose I just don't look back; it takes the edge of off the uncontrolled emotions during trades.
  7. Yes, a lot of pros use charts in combination with TA very sucessfully; Bulkowski and Dan Zanger are some of the best at it.
  8. James, Thanks for the welcome, I invested in swing trades to keep the account steady, some shorts but usually not day trades and alot of options. I like option because its doesn't take any of my time, I can just leave my desk for days with out checking the stocks.
  9. I made some money the first month because of luck, lost some money the second because of inexperience, lost alot of money the third month because of inexperience and aggressiveness. The fourth month on, I slowly recovered because of good trades and money management; I am getting on the roll since. Don't be afraid to do trades by yourself, mistakes are what you need to be good in the market, but play it small just to learn the rope before you dive in for a big splash.
