Re: Market Profile Key Terms

on that ytd i use the spx,no offense if you're a female, could be drew cary's chest,i can't keep track of all the abbreviations used for different meanings on the charts, with the int rate so low the near month is trading almost equal to the spx, if you go to charthub and search around you can find ytd charts of the spx market profile, currently there is cleavage at 1258,for some unknown reason we didn't fill there today, thats also (1259) a fib # for 1200 to 1311 retracement, its only a guess but its possible that when a # doesnt hit on the way down that there were so many buyers there that they stepped up their bid and we could rally the rest of the week, some elliott wave folks are looking at sep 3 area for a significant turn in the mrkt, its a cycle date

If you take the ytd weekly bar chart and use it to make a very large mp chart,1 week equaling 1 letter, you will see a large gap between 1385 and 1335,85 and 35 both being nips,we will reach 1335 this week as we are backfilling the past,i don't use the 70% value area, see no use for it
Can we be clear please about what is meant?

"Boob"

A "Boob" to me is a mistake, a further derivativer of the word "Boob" is "BooBoo" most often used by an adult when talking to a child e.g. "you have made a booboo". if I say to someone "I've made a boob" It means "I've made a mistake"

He's comparing the MP distribution to a female chest. I like it b/c it's clear to everyone what he means when he describes something.

boob = female breast in this context. Can be a man's breast usually on a fat man - hence term 'man boob'.

I know there are many female traders about, I wonder if they would use descriptions based on parts of the male anatom, I can imagine what they would use to represent an 'upthrust'

Re: Market Profile Key Terms

Ok, let's be clear about this word "Boob" This word has nothing to do with breasts.

The word derives and originates from the following etymology:-

boo-boo

• noun, informal, a mistake.

— ORIGIN reduplication of BOOB

boob

• noun
. 1. British. an embarrassing mistake.
. 2. North Amererican a stupid person.

• verb British, make an embarrassing mistake.

— ORIGIN from BOOBY

booby

• noun (plural boobies)
. 1. Informal a stupid person.
. 2. A large tropical seabird of the gannet family.

— ORIGIN probably from Spanish bobo, from Latin balbus ‘stammering’ (as in speech to stammer or stutter).

Boob as Breast, is slang.
