An Old Sea Dog and the Panama Canal

While the captain of small freighters on the world's trading routes I had made a dozen or more transits of the Panama Canal and was amazed everytime. The scenery is beautiful, the wildlife amazing and to see every kind of vessel from everywhere in the world very educational.

This first shot is a current picture of the Gatun Locks which is the first set of locks when entering from the Caribbean Sea.

These pics will update everytime the page is loaded or refreshed.

This next shot is of the Miraflores Locks which is the first set of locks when entering the canal from the Pacific.

Great shot of down locking. Obviously you are a powerboat (stinkpot) guy. For me, I am a rag man:

nice ketch.

I have done my fair share of sailing and racing in my "younger" days...
now, I prefer a kayak to anything else.

John,

While it's true Las Columbianas son sabrosas, in Panama Las Nicaraguensas son mejor.

Oh how I miss the AnchonInn in Panama City and in Colon the Bar at the Washington and the Flamingo.

cheers
