Real Estate Question

Anyone familiar with the real estate cycle in the US? When would the next time of opportunity come to invest in the real estate market? How long does one cycle last?

Re: Real Estate Question

I think that it can be quite dangerous to take forgranted that investment cycles are of similar lengths, and can be predictable.

While certain sectors are linked to other actions, e.g. Property and Interest Rates, there are so many other factors to take into account. An example is overseas investment in US property, which for years was dictated by the Japanese. Their investment actions were also effected by the domestic economy (in Japan) e.g. earth quakes, etc.

With US debt rising, there is a chance of a slowdown very soon. This would effect the property market, as well as the stockmarket in general.

Be careful................

Re: Real Estate Question

I don't think there is a set cycle, I think alot of the market has to do with ecomony and natural diseasters and war etc. Take Florida for instance, our market right now is so over saturated since the hurricanes, people are not buying houses like they were a few years ago, prices went up and it is just a stand still here, yet in North Carolina, my friend told me land and houses were still fairly cheap and things were picking up.
Do your research before you jump into anything.
