Enhancing Trader Performance by Brett N. Steenbarger
Considering I read Steenbarger's blog almost everyday I can't believe it took me this long to pick up one of his books.
There is not much else to say other than that this is one of the best trading books ever written. Its really quite the opposite of any of the "how to make millions in the stock market" book. Dr. Brett pulls no punches as far as the realities of trading goes and basically lays out a blueprint here for those who take this game seriously and want to become truely...

Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, Second Edition by Steve Nison
This book is the follow up to the review I posted here:
http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f8/candlestick-course-steve-nison-1560.html
I would suggest this book (Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, Second Edition) if you are interested in expanding your candlestick knowledge and want to learn more about the theories and explanations behind what the candles may be telling you. This book feels much more like a textbook; whereas the review listed above is more of a workbook...

The Nature of Risk
The Nature of Risk is a seminal work for anyone who understands that self-knowledge is key for success in the financial markets, particularly at market extremes. Rather than babble about risk in general, Mamis takes this engine apart and examines its parts, among which are information risk and price risk. He explains that as one's tolerance for information risk increases (the need to know why the stock is doing whatever it's doing), one's price risk diminishes (one is better able to jump...

Wall Street Jungle by Richard Ney
The Wall Street Jungle explains the corrupt practices of the specialist system. Ney talks about how specialists control prices and how the law of supply and demand is misleading under a specialist system. A stock will simply rise because a specialist has inventory objectives and will drop the price once inventory of his own and his friends are distributed and short positions are initiated.
Richard Ney goes into depth through case studies, investigation reports, interviews of...

Trading In The Zone by Mark Douglas
I became interested in pyschology and NLP a few years back. I read variety of trading pyschology books but this book is considered one of my favorites among them.
Alot of good insights in this book that deals with the mindset of a trader. Alot of it has to do with reprogramming your mind and changing your belief system. In order to fully appreciate the benefits on this book, one must already have a trading strategy or system. This will help you add the missing pieces in your...

Charting The Stock Market: The Wyckoff Method
Charting The Stock Market: The Wyckoff Method is a book with an incomplete title. While part of the book deals with explaining and describing the charts commonly used in Wyckoff analysis, its main value lies in its discussion and explanation of the principles behind Wyckoff analysis, and the application of these principles in trading. This is a book that punches far, far above its weight. It is a work of reference that can be picked up again and again, and each reading seems to offer...
