About the Instructor

Jim Dalton currently trades for his own account and is the lead author of a second book, Markets in Profile, newly published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. His first book, Mind Over Markets, co-authored by Eric T. Jones and Robert Bevan Dalton, was originally published in 1990 and continues to be a foundational work, providing a wealth of tactical trading strategies based on the Market Profile, a method of arranging data that enables the visualization of evolving market structure. The book was recently translated into Chinese. Jim formerly directed and reorganized non-proprietary hedge fund research at UBS Financial Services. He retired in August 2005 after having held the titles of Manager, Hedge Fund Research and Director of Research for Managed Accounts. He has been a member of both the CBOT and CBOE and served as Executive Vice President of the CBOE during its formative years. Additional experience includes four years active duty in the Marine Corp., several years with both IBM and Merrill Lynch. From this diverse experience, he has learned that “expert opinion” rarely pans out in the active market and that superior trading results over the longer term are always the result of a flexible, adaptive approach to markets.

Go to www.lbrgroup.com and sign the guestbook if you have not already done so. Then click on the Futures Live tab from our homepage and download the standalone chat!

That was an excellent presentation, probably the best I've ever attended. I liked his analogy of those betting at the end of a horse race and if there's a lot of volume at the end of a race then there'll be a lot of liquidation once that volume turns into losing volume. Thanks to Jim Dalton and the hosts.
