Recent Problems with Spammers

Hi,

I have been away recently on seminars, etc... A number of problems have arised on the forums which has got my attention.

Please note that spam, trash talk towards other members, or specific vendors will not be tolerated. This is a trading community geared primarily for education. I would like to keep it this way.

I am also permanently banning all future vendor participation, besides Dr. Janice as she is our partner. And will also keep a closer eye out on future vendors.

I would like to apologize for all the garbage that may have reduced the integrity of the board. I will be keeping stricter eye on things as the purpose of this site is education. It has become a difficult task recently due to my prop trading job and with the continous abuse from specific spammers.

I would also like to request that members refrain from trash talking vendors. It appears that this trash talk seems to keep bringing them back to spam the boards. If specific vendors are not brought up here, their existence is simply gone.

It's sad that this happens, but it is what it is.

We all understand that this board costs money to run and as others have suggested, a simple one-time or monthly fee would eliminate many of these spamming attacks. I've seen boards that charge one whole dollar for this very purpose. If you want to keep these people off the boards, just charge a small signup fee and most won't bother b/c they know they will be banned very quickly.

That's my idea.

Not to mention, by doing this you will have all their contact info - name, address, phone, etc. and their credit card info. This alone will scare most people if their intentions are not genuine.
