Using TICK for Trading NQ or YM?

What are the different ways of using the TICK for day trading the emini futures (YM, NQ, or ES)? I personally trade the NQ and sometimes YM and I'm looking for ways to incorporate the TICK into my trading. I have tried the TICK hooks outlined in the video but I find it gets me into trades late at times. Are there other ways of using the TICK? Thank you.

nycdweller,

I use the TICK and by observation you will find that the extreme readings are useful and also watch for channels that form with bar chart TICK readings. By drawing trendlines on the TICK bar charts you can discern some recurring patterns that you might feel like you have an edge when confirmed with price action and volume etc.

Yes, I have noticed the ticks to be a good confirming indicator at times. Sometimes you will even see divergences in the tick reading and price. I read somewhere(maybe on this website) that just because you see an extreme tick reading, its not time to fade. Sometimes you will see several extreme reading in a row which will confirm a short term trend in price.
