I have a question that Tom may be able to answer. First, let me tell you how
I arrived at this question. Hubert and John from Trade the Markets said that Tradestation is way too slow for order entry. They use Tradestation for charts, etc. but use Infinity for order entry. My question is, how do you determine how fast the exchange receives your order and how can Infinity be faster than Tradestation since Tradestation says they are connected directly to the exchange. ( In this case the CME for the e-mini S&P, etc.) The reason I ask this is that I am considering moving from Roadrunner at 7 Mbps by 2 Mbps upload to Verizon at 20 Mbps by 20 Mbps upload. Will this switch help the speed of the order or not? Roadrunner says no because the websites I deal with limit the bandwidth I can use to approx. 512-768 Kbps. This is very confusing because of the Infinity speed issue! Thanks for any clarification, Barry |

Re: Order Entry Speed
Hi Barry,
Thanks for your Interest in Infinity. I'm going to try to answer your question the best way I can, but since I haven't traded with Tradestation nor done a speed comparison test, I don’t want to get into who has the faster platform. I would put the speed question out there to the traders in this room. There are a few here that have both Tradestation and AT maybe someone can post a comparison. Barry, I can’t speak to the qualities of Tradestation, but I can tell you a few things about Infinity AT. AT was designed specifically to be a thin program. AT takes up very little space on your computer and uses very few resources, creating a more stable, fast trading platform. I am told Tradestation is a great charting program, but that it is also a resource / memory intensive program. As a matter of fact it is not recommended that you run AT on the same computer as Tradestation because computer resources tend to be dominated by Tradestation this could slow or interrupt data transfer. TransAct has spent significant resources on switching, routing and server equipment to provide the cleanest, fastest execution feed as possible. TransAct is continually upgrading equipment and software to provide the best platform possible. Also, AT servers are housed in the same facility as CME group which simplifies and streamlines data transfer. Stop orders are sent immediately and reside directly on the exchange waiting to be executed. Being directly sent to the exchange places them in an optimum executable position. Orders kept on a server and not on an exchange are at risk of non-execution in the case of a server crash. As far as your broadband speed is concerned faster is better, but also the integrity of your connection is also key. Don’t use a wireless connection as packet loss could cause slowdowns or interruptions in the platform I hope this helps. Best regards, Tom |

Thanks Tom,
I talked to a tech at CME today, and he said maybe you have multiple connections for different markets, whereas Tradestation may not. Thanks for the separate computer tip, and I never use wireless because in my experience it is too slow. Example: motels, etc. Regards, Barry P.S. Could I possibly talk to one of your technicians to gain a little more insight into this? |

Hi Barry,
What other questions do you have? I will answer you directly or I will get an answer from tech. Best regards, Tom |

Hello Tom,
I need to know if switching to Verizon FiOS with 20 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speed will speed up my order entry over my current provider, which is Roadrunner at 7 Mbps download and up to 2 Mbps upload for orders. Also, what is Infinity's allowed bandwidth for clients to place orders? Thanks, Barry |

Re: Order Entry Speed
Have you looked at the AT platform? I believe we have one of the fastest execution platforms anywhere. Take a free look http://www.infinityfutures.com/demof....aspx?ref=tdlb Best regards, Tom |
