Guys,

 

What is leverage level for emini s&p 500 (esm09)?. I use optionsxpress.com virtual trading and .. $ 5625 is required to control 1 unit of esm9 (contract size=50) , that's around 7.x times leverage.

 

Isn't it supposed to be 70 times?

$5625 is the CME initial overnight margin requirement. Most brokers offer much lower intraday margins, from Interactive Brokers (50% of exchange requirement) down to as low as $300-$500 at many futures brokers.
