Newbie Question

Hi, I 've paper trading the emini s and p for a few months now, and I've noticed that volatility changes drastically from month to month. No revelation there.

But, I was going to start day trading live in the beginning of the year, and I noticed that there hasn't been alot of swing in prices. I was planning to trade 1 contract, but when there is a prive swing of only 7 points a day it is difficult to see any significant amount of profit.

So, my question is, do any of you traders adjust the amount of contracts you trade to reflect the condions of the mini s and p, or, do you just wait it out until conditions improve?

Thank you.
