DTN data will work as well with Ninja.

Investor/RT supports opentick, and provides an option to use DTN Market Access for historical data backfill ($12/mo extra). This gives users a way to quickly clean up any bad live ticks from opentick with a quick backfill from DTN (backfills right up to the second requested). Realtime comes from opentick.....backfill gets routed to DTN.

Re: OpenTick data for Ninjatrader or any other chart package---comments requested

Just been trialling zenfire, seems top notch, free with the appropriate broker. Contrary to what some say IB is not too bad though it aggregates ticks I think every 200ms. If you use tick charts it probably wont do, constant volume are fine. Actually I quite like tick charts with IB data they have a smoother characteristic. There historical backfill is kind of sluggish but it is quite workable. Free too.

In fast markets a lot of the premier feeds (eSig DTN) lag. Well thats my experience. Last time I tried OpenTick it just didn't quite do the job for me, I hear its improving.

I may be wrong but I think you will have to pay exchange fees wherever you go (unless you settle for delayed data!)

Chad, that's really good news. Any clue if you can play the same game (Opentick realtime /DTN backfill) for Ninjatrader?

I agree. Zenfire datafeed is the best i have seen yet for ninjatrader. Open Tick has gaps and IB data on tick charts has also gaps. The IB datafeed is limited and gives only 50% of data / second. So if you do a refresh on ensign with IB data in tick charts your charts a completely different as you had before the refresh. So bad that you have so sell where before refresh you had to buy.......

ZenFire feed is really super. i just started using it and am very satisfied with it.
Its stable in fast mkt conditions and slippage on stops are the best I've seen.
Now I just need to get a faster processor -) to fully appreciate the speed and stability .
