Mini AG Products for TS?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if TradeStation provides data feed for mini AG products on the CBOT? Is it possible to use esignal data to and chart products on TS? Thank you.

I think the mini ags are pit only so it's unlikely TS provides a data feed.

You can use esignal data with the old TradeStation 2000 I believe but not with the current version.

Yes, they are offered. Try doing a SYMBOL LOOKUP in Tradestation if you have it installed.

Click futures, then type in one of them, such as "corn" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box that says "Show Electronic Contracts Only". This will also show any pit contracts in the results.

Click the button that says "Lookup".

Scroll through the results, and you should see contracts for "mini-sized Corn" at the CBOT.

Rinse and repeat for the wheat and soybeans minis.

TS 8.2 (Build 3863) here.

Assuming your setup is enabled for CBOT data (e.g you get the DOW e-minis YM data), you should be able to get the following for free:

Mini-sized Corn: YC.P

Mini-sized Soybeans: YK.P

Mini-sized Wheat: YW.P

If not, contact TS Support and ask them why you're not receiving it.

What do you mean, notouch? Same as any other pit-traded contract.

One of my brokers has the ability to place a pit order directly off the DOM (depth of market). The order is transmitted electronically to a trader in the pit on their handhelds, where it is worked and matched.

Best use I've found for having this capability is when the e-CBOT platform is down, and you need to exit your positions. If there is a pit contract that trades side-by-side with the electronic (as with the full-sized grains) you can send a pit order to exit it.
