Price moved up before the news at 8:30. The news was good. What did the price of the ES do? It went DOWN, on good news. From 8:30 to 9:30 the ES went down 4 points. Price went back up after the open, but the immediate reaction to news, is often the opposite of the news if the price has already moved in the direction of the news. In other words, price was going up before the good news came out.
