Cool New Member, Some Questions Please

Hello everyone!
I am a new member in the Traders Laboratory community. I am going to start "paper trading" using Ninja Trader and I have some questions. It would be great if you guys could help.

First question is, Is there any FREE real time market data stream other than open-tick. Open Tick is not accepting new members.

Second question, I saw the "Free MP Charting software for Ninja Trader posted on this site. I was wondering what Data Stream software it is compatible with?

Third, I followed Ninja Trader Support instructions on how to Connect to Yahoo data stream, I followed the instructions and it said I was connected to yahoo. However no data or chart appears when I go to File-New Chart. Is this because I have to pay for Yahoo's data stream service?

Alongside with that, does the Free Market Profile Code for Ninja Trader also with the SIMULATED charting that comes with Ninja Trader?

Thank you for welcoming me to the community, I know these are a lot of questions pertaining to different things but I am new and I don't really have anybody to talk to.

Thanks a lot,
Butterback

Re: New Member, Some Questions Please

Other than opentick, I'm not aware of any free data that will plug into NinjaTrader. Another idea is to demo Open ECry's software. You'll get 2 weeks free and then it's $24.95/mo after that for a demo that INCLUDES data. As you've seen, data is a little expense that can creep up on you quickly. For $24.95/mo that includes an absolute TON of live data, you'll have trouble beating it. The only restriction is that it does not carry much old data.

Re: New Member, Some Questions Please

You can get free simulator of NinjaTrader from several brokers (AMP Futures, Mirus futures, etc), which will include a data feed. I know AMP provides Zen-fire, which is a great data feed to begin with. Many of the demos don't have a time limit.

I'm not aware of any free MP solution for NinjaTrader, but if you find one, any data feed will work.

To the best of my knowledge, yes. If not, it's for a while, and once it runs out, you could probably open another demo account.

Re: New Member, Some Questions Please

Hi,

I am currently simulating trading using NT and Zen-Fire. I have tested out that free MP code and i can't seem to get the TPOs to not overlap. Anyone else, who is using this code, having this same problem?
