The enemy is the trader him/herself.Self sabotage.
Simple probabilities with risk control is for predators.Trade with emotion and poor risk control and you become the prey.This results in time wasted and financial loss.
Baby steps at first ,doing the right thing more often,the wrong thing as less as possible leads to a turn in the tide of the war.And the war is to master oneself.Human nature,being what it is,inevitably means it's a struggle to succeed until one has absolute acceptance of what is required to succeed.Plan to win.follow the plan,win the war.
Many wars are won and lost before they are fought.

Looking forward to your posts, but it seems you're being a little too overly simplistic in your assessment of trading. That probabilities are relevant is a fact, but the key in my opinion is the context and structure from which you draw those statistics that makes them relevant or not.

If you've messed up on those 2 elements in anyway whatsoever, your statistics are meaningless. Creating a relevant and meaningful statistical base is much harder than it first appears and is easily ruined by misunderstanding the key elements which define the market and in fact take years of study to discover.

A meaningful statistical base is the war chest from which you wage a battle of probabilities with either less informed or over capitalized players. Both of these players are at the mercy of the well educated,nimble small time speculator.

The beauty of our position in the markets is that it already gives us an initial edge from which to fight. The futures markets seem made to benefit it's smallest members the most.

Just remember, don't increase your lot size in any market when doing well, simply increase the diversity of markets which you participate in. By so doing you always retain your edge of being it's smallest and potentially smartest player.

I think it's going to need to be simple since it's for beginners.Not sure who is at the mercy of retail but a 'meaningfull statistical base' made me think you might be a mechanical trader,but then you mention context,I think i get the gist of what you're saying,but you know,you can be right on a market for all the wrong reasons.And i'm sure that many have discarded much of what they learned in favour of something simple.Although by that stage one would have developed a good instinct,something a beginner doesn't have and cannot be taught.
I feel a growing sense that it may be time for the whole trading industry to return to simplicity and basics.All these highly educated quants have achieved is the means to instigate a global financial crisis.And the T.A industry is doing exactly the opposite of what it claims.If the indicator industry were building cars we'd be crashing all over the place Thanks for the support btw.
