Re: Anyone play online poker?

Hey Reaver. You might also want to check out Ultimate Bet. It lacks the flare as some of the other sites, like having avatars for the players. But it works well and it is fairly popular.

There was a good point raised by aiki14. There may be teams of people working together. Even 2 teammates on a 6 player game can be a major threat. Or there could be one person who has created multiple identities through identity theft. But in the tourney games where you can win seats in the major tournaments I suspect it would be nearly impossible to get away with using multiple identities.

There was a forum about using bots in online poker, seemed like lots of people were doing it and talking about it.

I heard the poker sites have a program for catching cheaters, but I suspect people are able to get passed it. I'm not sure what it is but I guess it is a combination of IP addresses, which can be hidden, geographic location, and player patterns to see who is working together in a statistically significant way. But an identity thief might be able to create an army of identities which would make it difficult to catch patterns due to the high volume, especially if they moved from site to site to hide their impact.
