Who is your favourite trader?
I thought it might be interesting to see who we base our trading patterns on, who we respect in the markets, and what kind of strategies we use.
I have to say that my favouirte trader has to be Warren Buffett. While this may surprise a few, because he is seen as a "value" trader, he is not against making the odd short term gain. I also have a sneaking appreciation of George Soros (the man who "broke" the Bank of England) for having the guts to go with his Black Monday strategy when all around were denying he was right - but he was. Who is you favourite trader? |

Re: Who is your favourite trader?
My favorite traders are Jesse Livermore, Humphrey Neill, and Richard Wyckoff. They are my true teachers in this game.
Of course there are many excellent modern day traders but these 3 have taught me more than anyone has ever taught me.

Re: Who is your favourite trader?
While there are a few names which I have never heard of (to be expected) it is interesting to see the different influences which have effected our trading activities.
All of the above traders have their unique style, and their characteristics appeal to different people. I look forward to receiving more comments, and at some point I will total up the "votes" for various traders. |

Re: Who is your favourite trader?
While I agree that Jesse Livermore book imparted more general maket wisdom than any other book, finding a particular trader in learning tactics and strategy is difficult. Had to do that on my own. Bruce Kovner is my other favorite trader.
