Steve Nison is a joke. Wait till our book comes out, we'll find him under the bus bench crying. Him and his silly suits.... pfft

We'll have a whole chapter on the psychology of candles and their sports related meanings.

sounds good to me. we'll give TL members a discount too.

And make it extra confusing for the VSA boys to fit in

"The NHL is a dying sport candle is only valid if followed by a James likes busty blondes with a bit of plastic if and only if that candle has a wick of 3 ticks to each extreme. If it is less than 3 ticks, that candle is null and void and warrants a short at all times."

Thanks James, that makes sense now. Just to clarify I have yet to see a no demand bar for the 3 busty blondes.

Did you have all the indicators set correctly? I prefer at least 9 per chart, that way I get better odds of one being the holy grail.

I did find the secret to trading though. I plan on selling it in my candlestick book, but instead I will give it out free today for my loyal TL fans.

Ready?

I give you, the holy grail indicator.

The humor here is only appreciated by a few though, that's a shame.

Re: Doji or Evening star?

Maybe this is the right place to ask about this candlestick.
Not sure if it has any significance but it sure looks like a temporary halt on proceedings.
Any ideas.

Re: Doji or Evening star?

It always important to use candles in context. The day finished about a spinning top, that in itself is not that important. Now taking a quick look at the daily chart ( I use the INDU) you can see that price is at resistance so that might give me some more credence to this spinning top. Of course, depending on how/when to enter, where to put stops, and where to take profits is the real trick. Candles are just part of a trading plan.

Re: Doji or Evening star?

Another look at the same, well similar, thing is the $SPX but my preference is to find areas of congestion rather than spike bottoms/tops. Most times this represent more traders trapped and a greater likelyhood a reaction. RSI(2) is signaling a sell which I would take on a close below todays low but expect only a retracement of the move off the swing low of 7/15/08. My wave count might be wrong, very possible , but if not I expect higher prices (1350 area?) after the retracement.

Re: Doji or Evening star?

I dont have the slightest idea about wave counts or any of that stuff. Anyways, looks like that resistance level + candle pattern was pretty powerful today. Now where/if/when to take profits is a whole other topic.

Candles can be a very simplistic, yet powerful system for daily charts. Intraday, well that's a lot different.
